the reasons of building Stonehenge

I think that the reasons of building Stonehenge are ideological & religious reasons that people believed in at that era, because the monuments lasts for a long periodic times.
It was built in several stages and that requires a real faith and religious believe.

Very good point Sultan. I had not thought of it that way before. But, yes, religious belief and fervor could lead to the motivation and passion it would take to complete such a monumental landscape!
