Stonehenge landscape

I believe it is important to place Stonehenge in the context of its landscape. There had to be a reason to build these magnificent stones at that particular site. Stonehenge had to be a place where people gathered to commemorate the dead. The monuments at Stonehenge and the associated landscape help us to build a picture of our understanding of Neolithic and Bronze Age ceremonial and mortuary practices.
