Most of what we learn is by way of social learning. Workplaces need to have a culture that's open to supporting or formalising social learning. Some of the ways to do that would be to run lunch time sessions to share experiences and workshop solutions to problems. Or find mentor/partners who have skills you want (and visa versa) and coach each other. This type of learning requires an open, collaborative corporate culture.
