Although this course is about Chinese art it is always worth to take a look at what is left and right. Singapore, for instance: 6 months ago, only, the ambitious city-state opened an enormously big National Gallery which is supposed to show the recent developments in the art of both Singapore and the region of South East Asia. Just a few weeks ago, the National Gallery opened a show in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou under the title: Reframing Modernism. See down here a bold advertisement on this matter. It reflects eloquently the shift which is currently happening in the global art scene.
