Learning goals, expectations and career plans

This Journal Assignment is dedicated to exploring the participants' learning goals and expectations of this MOOC.

You may also share some information about your current career situation, if you wish. This may help you find peers in similar situations and expand your network.

Chapter 1


I will be starting my MBA&E master at HTW Berlin, program to which Mr. Kapanen contributes. He recommended this MOOC, and after having taken other online courses before, I think they are a great tool and a good source for practicing autodidactic skills.

After reviewing the introductory material, I am highly motivated to follow up the course. I believe this material will important for achieving my short and long term career plans, mainly in the developing on the non-technical side of my expertise.

I am a 28 years old Mechatronics Engineer from Guatemala. I have focused my career especially in Industrial Automation. I worked in different countries with companies like Coca Cola, Pepsi and some Breweries.

What Matters
From my career what I value the most is work experience, facing challenges and overcoming them. Important is to enjoy what you do as well.

Short Term Future
I plan to accomplish my MBA&E. Then I would like to work in Germany in order to gain new broad experience which will enrichen my resume and life experience.

Long Term Future
I plan to return to Guatemala and start my own company taking advantage of my experience, introducing a different perspective which studying and working abroad can give you.
