CCAA as research tool can show us i think first the fact that few people can create a massive effect- but it must happen at the right time and at the right place- because the world needs to react.
Net of Connections are very important not only in the art world but of course in all different topics and themes, more over in the chinese culture where 关系is very important as a concept.
I love how you relate the way the art-world operates to the Chinese concept of 关系;i often have discussion with people that feel a bit appaled by the fact that most everything that comes into being in the arts happens through networking and relations, and they blame it to be 'vriendjespolitiek' (Dutch, i don't know the English equivalent but is means something like only promoting your friends and aqcuitances in business and politics) But this is an ignorant point of view, as everything happens through guanxi in any line of business anyway, and Chinese people generally recognize this more than western people. And from that point of view it's quite interesting to note that Chinese art became so huge on the global scene through foreign 关系!
