What is the ONE thing that has the highest impact for you?

What is the ONE THING for you - right now AND for future success?

We all have have plans about what to work on, but sometimes we either don´t find the time to check whether they still make sense or we are swamped with things that are less relevant but are more urgent.


Therefore, we ask you to take some time and truly reflect upon these 2 questions:


Question #1:

  • Are you really working on the ONE thing, right now, that has a high impact on your CURRENT SITUATION (like our example of the responsive email template in chapter 6.2)?

Question #2:

  • Are you really working on the ONE thing, right now, that will have a high impact on YOUR FUTURE BUSINESS (like setting up a customer referral program or hiring a new employee)?

PS: You´ve probably noticed that this assignment is closely related to the one on WHY you do the things you do in chapter 2. But having an answer to WHY does not necessarily tell us what our top priorities are or should be. Especially because we are prone to justify what we are already doing, even if it might not be the best option in a given situation.

You don´t? Don´t worry, you are not alone...try to understand why you are working on something different and what you can change about it.

As marketing people, we sometimes tend to do so many things in order to reach different touch points, to the point of not really realizing which ones have the highest impact on our current and future business.

Stanley remains to be the top of mind brand of hand tools in the Philippines. However, so many private label competitors have proliferated in the market. In order to address this, we continue to improve on our branding and promotion activities. These will ensure that we maintain our status as brand leader and continue to grow our market share.

To lead the business to sustainable growth, we are now working on improving our distribution. It is very critical to have an effective channel plan for the future of the business.
