Ideas for a socially responsible and sustainable urban planning research institute

I have not started this NBM as of yet, however, it does spring from my original concept of a sustainable, socially responsible urban planning consultancy that focuses on undertaking green (sustainable) projects that promote community livability and fosters the natural capital of neighborhoods; building up local economies to foster the revenue and income streams of local businesses and subsequently local town revenue; social responsible planning in order to create inclusive communities that foster access to, for example, housing, roads, etc. This original business concept resulted in my sole-proprietor, urban planning consultancy, The ECOPlanning Institute.

As I advanced in my specializations in my field of urban planning, I began to see opportunities for enhancing and expanding the urban planning capacities of government officials and other professionals, and residents through data and information. As such, I began to re-think the original concept of The ECOPlanning Institute and have made some adjustments to it. The basic framework of this new concept comprises my New Business Model idea and is explained below.

Community for this NBM: will cater to a clientele of government agencies, non-profit organizations and private-sector institutions, and residents. This NBM aims to empower these clientele through research and analysis intended to enhance data repositories and provide key sector analysis. Although this NBM will continue to pursue projects that fall under the original concept, the focus will be on research in order to enhance the urban planning capacity of the clients.

The business plan is partially written. I still have to think about the staff and how it will grow over the next ten years.
