Gianluca Gini

Gianluca Gini is Associate Professor of developmental psychology at the University of Padua (Italy). He is member of the Bullying Research Network (BRNET) and of the Standing Observatory of School Bullying of Veneto region in Italy. He is also member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of School Psychology. His research works in the last 15 years have mainly investigated the phenomenon of school bullying, with a focus on the individual (i.e., cognitive, emotional, moral) and social (e.g., friendship networks, normative peer pressure, teachers’ practices, school climate) factors associated with different roles of participation in bullying (i.e., bullies, defenders of the victims, and passive bystanders). Moreover, he has published three meta-analyses about the health consequences of peer victimization. He is highly committed to work with school personnel to prevent bullying.
