The Roll of Stonehenge in the 21st Cent.

The story of Stonehenge is continuing in the 21st century as new discoveries and new technologies continue to bring more information to light. This new information can be used to reinterpret or expound on our previous concepts of the site.
The new visitor’ centre, opened in 2013, continues to educate the public and encourage new generations to consider the roll of Stonehenge within the narrative of British identity.
The Maryhill War Memorial in Washington and the various appearances of Stonehenge in pop-culture, e.g. Dr. Who, show that that site remains a powerful source of inspiration for modern artists.
