Me, my cultural background and experience of culture

It is impossible not to observe global culture in our everyday life, right? Me coming from Istanbul, working at a Art Museum in Liechtenstein, in the middle of the Alp Mountains and being served sushi at the museum cafe everyday and looking at works of Picasso and living in a half American family.
From my point of view it would be a more important question here asking what do we observe as local in this global world, is there anything staying local in this day and age?
