calligraphy in the context of new technology and an artistic view of today
I spent the sunny sunday, reading the catalogue of the exhibition in Bern "chinese whispers". The more I dive into the work of these very different chineses artists I often feel, especially with a younger generation of artists, that they are strongly rooted in a tradition of spirituality and calligraphy and make sometimes extremely unexpected and accurat dislocations and connections to the actual time. A strong excemple is for me the work "not too late" of Feng Mengbo who transformed a warriours game into a dance-like abstract movements that are clearly reminiscents of calligraphy.
Another brilliant excample is the interactive multi-channel projection "Poetic Writing for Nature" from Jin Jinagbo.
I am especially interested in chinese art that connects with calligraphy in a very broaden sense and connects with technology and/or actual topics of today.
Any suggestions and reactions are very welcome.
best
