Digital Arts?

3

Why do we call the course "digital art"? Would we call the art of Rembrandt or van Gogh "oil art"? Is it because today everything is "digital"? Harold Cohen says: Art is a series of acts, not a series of objects. So what is digital about the acts making up art? Naturally, nothing.
But how we are able to discover and work with pieces of art in our course, this is conveyed by digital tools. We are dealing with art in a digital way - is it that?

I don't see your point so clearly. It's an online course, digital. you might use the digital tools. yes. but you might as well use analog tool to enhance what you do. takes longer though. in the end, it's presented digital.
nice little creature, you've drawn

Digital art is an artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as an essential part of the creative or presentation process. Since the 1970s, various names have been used to describe the process including computer art and multimedia art, and digital art.!
Digital art can be purely computer-generated (such as fractals and algorithmic art) or taken from other sources, such as a scanned photograph or an image drawn using vector graphics software using a mouse or graphics table.... SO DIGITAL ARTS it is ;-)
cheers!
