Is Stonehenge Just the Stones?

I believe that we should not focus entirely on the stones at Stonehenge, or we will lose significant details as we lose sight of the meaning behind the area itself. Every place of historical religious significance has a significance to the people that live around it, and they would choose the area most sacred to them in the positioning of places such as Stonehenge.
