In terms of the monument's use and ritual practice, however, there remain echoes of such an account in that many archaeologists conclude that the henge and its wider landscape was a place imbued with death and burial rites. Whilst this is archaeologically supported, they share echoes of Monmouth's declarations of monumentality and remembrance.
