I am a photographer and film maker and I work in New Zealand as a volunteer for an organisation that attempts to assist developing societies world wide to keep their culture alive though craft and food production in a small manageable scale. By importing these goods and foods in a way that gives a viable return to the small producer it assists them to not be shackled to multi-national companies. However while I do this for overseas countries I can see here in New Zealand its own unique culture rapidly disappearing under the weight of globalization.
It will be interesting to see if and how New Zealand develops preservation schemes to protect and promote its local cultural assets.
