Clearly the area began to attract interest along time ago, possibly in the Mesolithic era.
The wider landscape continues to throw up more evidence of human activity.

Time to revisit the area, as there is so much to get one\s head around. Clearly populations back then needed to get together for whatever reasons, hence the feasting. Perhaps we can tell what time of year the creatures were eaten.

Also saw the recent Orkney series and that a very ancient house in the Stonehenge area is based on one at Skara Brae? in terms of layout, but probably used wood instead of stone.

I do recall seeing in the British Museum,(Assyrian Friezes), some images of people lugging huge stones, similar era.
