in regards to stone source, methods of movement, and the site's construction, archaeologists are definitively separated from Monmouth's twelfth-century account of Stonehenge's origin and design. In terms of the monument's use and ritual practice, however, there remain echoes of such an account in that many archaeologists conclude that the henge and its wider landscape was a place imbued with death and burial rites. Whilst this is archaeologically supported, they share echoes of Monmouth's declarations of monumentality and remembrance.
