Climate Change policy
According to you, which health impact due to climate change should be prioritized on the United Nations agenda?
Priorities for Our Children
Living here in the tropics, the Philippines, we are very much aware of the health impacts of global change. Incidence of vector-borne diseases such as malaria and dengue has been constantly rising. I personally think that the UN also prioritize vaccine development for Malaria. This disease has been present since time immemorial and has been re-emerging again in numbers. We hope that a vaccine for malaria gets developed. We already have a dengue vaccine and it is proposed to be given in a national immunization program, with elementary pupils as recipients. I am looking forward to seeing a decrease, and hopefully, eradication of dengue cases here in our country.
