Climate Change and Health

When I was little, 10-15 years ago, I remember watching on TV the glaciers melting because of the increasing temperatures, the fires and the deforestation. Those news were sad, far away from me (not the fires), but I always cried. I could understand it was something horrible and important, but most of people preferred not to look at it and keep living without thinking of the consequences of their individual acts. I'm glad I always had those images in my mind that started making me change my habits.

Now, when I think about Climate Change, I am even more convinced that we are now facing the most important challenge in Human History: we have incredibly contributed to the hastening of an initially natural Climate Change, and with this, we are in part responsible of many animal extinctions, deforestation, famine in LMIC and our own problems concerning habitability in some areas. Evidences are overwhelming and the bad news is that there is no withdrawal. There is no plan(et) B. And, as we, as a species, the "most evolved one", have interfered in the whole Climate System and Ecosystems, we are the only ones with the obligation to stop the damage we are still doing.

We had no right to damage the Earth, our true and unique home, and the rest of species that live with us in this wonderful planet.

Personal and public awareness is the first step. And the very good news is that good changes can be seen if we change the way we live in developed countries and work for a more fair world...
...and everyone agrees life is happier when living in peace with Nature and other Humans.
