Stonehenge

Stonehenge is a cultural icon for Britain. Perhaps Tower Bridge in London would symbolise Britain, especially England, for many, but Stonehenge would also fulfil that role.

That is not to say that it has had a massive influence on British art or popular culture. It is to say, however, that almost everyone in the British Isles would recognise Stonehenge from a photograph, and quite possible mention the Druids or Salisbury Plain in association with the name.
