Chapter 4 Journal Activity

Cultural aspects

0

Stonehenge is deep in current British culture and is referenced in recent years by books such as Bernard Cornwell's Stonehenge, which is a historical fiction based on competition between Avebury and Stonehenge. there are also books on the Stonehenge free festivals and the battle of the beanfield as they were suppressed. Also, since the Festivals, it has become a part of both music and live shows, and famously was in the Spinal Tap comedy film. As organised religion has diminished, it has become a focus, along with other sites, of new age and pagan religions and also humanist and even atheist groups.
