Chapter 1 Journal Activity

The positioning of Stonehenge and its importance.

0

Stonehenge cannot just be viewed as a single landmark in my mind as, if this could have been constructed else where, especially in a location closer to the sarson stones i believe it would have been and therefore the landscape surrounding it becomes crucial when looking at Stonehenge. For 200 men, with a population within the country so small in comparison to today, to transport the stone using the method described within this chapter, there must undoubtedly be a reason for the specific placement which i do not believe can be accurately proposed without looking at the landscape and existing monuments and sites already there and from this pull meaning and reasoning from the landscape as a whole and not in isolation.
