Literally, climate change can be defined as the variations that occur in weather conditions over a long period of time, usually for over 30 years. These variations could be the change in the patterns of temperature recordings, humidity and precipitation.
The cause of climate change has been said to be the result of anthropological factors such as burning of coal natural gas and oil which is increasing the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. These gases traps heat in the atmosphere and causes warmth. The concentration of the CO2 is believed to have started from the industrial revolution which has seen the increasing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. coupled with this increasing temperature levels is also the rise of ocean temperature
As a result, there is evidence of global warming which is causing the melting of ice in the polar regions.
Major effect of climate change is manifested in the increasing coastal floods, drought, changes in rainfall patterns and the introduction of climate induced diseases
