As stated previously, The CCAA served as a wall-less/country-less institution that China never created and one that the west didn't have until then. This important entity which became very instrumental in advocating not just the development of Chinese Art, but became that spark and push that is a revolution in itself.
Not only did the award put Chinese contemporary art into the light because of Mr. Sigg's efforts (because they couldn't do so with the disinterested Chinese government ), but it gave others an initiative and confidence to continue doing what they love and are passionate about.
Furthermore, the CCAA is an important research tool because it is always learning either through submissions or collaborations, and it is updating itself through its ever-expanding networks and connections.
