Human Rights and revising the routes

There is still something very seriously wrong with the whole system. I don´t knwo that much the situation in the US but I guess needs to be very similar to wha is happening in Europe. Asylum seekers from Syria need to undertake a very expensive and dangerous way to get to Europe - they need to pay about 1000-2500€ to the people smugglers, they travel in the teribble conditions and many of people dies. They get to the boarder exhausted, hungry, possibly many of them sick. Is it really worth to do it this way - isn´t the plan ticket a better and cheaper option? And we don´t have to risk so mnay lives of the poeple.
This would be possible with the humanitarian visa.
