Climate Change and Health

To me it means:

• getting used to more and more unexpected natural events
• not being able to live with the cycles of weather the way I grew up -encountering every year new forms of viruses and diseases that were not common before, due to temperature change, e.g. changing flu strains, dengue, malaria, new types of skin diseases -unexpected droughts leading to water shortages or unexpected heavy rains leading to floods or crop damages
  • it is also emerging as one major factor behind migratory movements of people from climate change affected areas: victims of droughts (and hence of wars due to shortage of arable land or water), victims of land lost to water, among others.
