The Mayor of Amesbury, Ian Mitchell (a graduate of the University of Buckingham) made the last ever road journey on the A344 past Stonehenge. Closure of the road - the closest to Stonehenge - and removal of the ugly fence has been an essential part of the improved environment of Stonehenge. One new answer to Stonehenge is this better presentation for visitors to the monument and its surrounding area.
