Make the most of EU resources for your region or city
What are the criteria that your city or region follows to decide who is eligible to social housing?
Sweden has no social housing, but public rental housing. 3 out of 10 million Swedes live in rental housing. More than half of rental housing is publicly owned, usually by a municipally owned public housing company. (source: https://www.sabo.se/).
While there is no "social" housing, there is housing allowance available depending on certain criteria (source: https://www.forsakringskassan.se/), including:
- families with children and low incomes
- young people (<29y) without children with low income
- unemployment or on long-term sickleave
- people with disabilities
- above 65 and low pension
