Cost of enjoying the perks of living in a welfare state

A great number of migrants arrived in Europe in 2015 and keep arriving in 2016 as well but the target countries, the most popular destinations are mainly rich welfare states such as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the UK, and first and foremost Germany. Seeing the huge influx of migrants, politicians and the media echoed that the continent is not able to accomodate such high number of people. Politicians reacted differently, depending on which political branch they belong to, and many of them underlined the economic risks of the arrival of migrants, saying that migrants will take our jobs, lower our wages and by benefitting from our social services, ruin our country's economy.

But studies suggests that Europe's main problem is ageing, it is the gratest challenge of welfare states. The only solution to solve this problem is having more young people in our countries that have quick and easy access to legal work.

Since not enough children are born, and people tend to have less and less children, the arrival of migrants can solve Europe's greatest problem. However, in order to maintain our welfare states, states should create the basis of quick and easy access to work with
- testing the skills of the new arrivals, since many of the migrants have no evidence of previous work experience or studies
- language courses should be offered to people who arrive in the country
- minimal living conditions should be granted to them, etc.
