Climate Change and Health

In my opinion, Climate Change (CC) poses the biggest threat humanity has faced in its evolution. The changes occur in unprecedented speed and they are mostly human made. The climate system is an inherent complex system with many feedback loops. We already triggered many of these loops or vicious cycles. This will increasingly effect the livelihoods of people all over the globe. In higher latitudes, the effect of the changes are greater, threatening the livelihoods of many indigenous people of the Arctic. In tropical areas, the temperature increases are not so high, but here, most people already life at or beyond the limit of survival.
Changing temperatures and precipitation can lead to the spread of diseases. Combined with changing lifestyles and travel opportunities, vector and non-vector born diseases can spread fast and effect previously not effected regions.
