Get Creative With Basic Shapes

As you can see in the video and in these two images, there are many different complexity stages when drawing a house.

Now it's your turn to experiment with creating objects using those basic shapes. How far can you reduce an object? Remember the bike or the car?

So, take your sketchbook and pick an object on your desk.

  1. Which basic shapes can you identify?
  2. Draw the object in a reduced manner and take a picture.
  3. Then, go ahead and add details (using the basic shapes).
  4. Take another picture to compare the two drawings and upload them into your journal. Which one do you like better?
  5. Have a look at other journal entries and let them know which one you think is better and why.

Basic Shapes

Basic Shapes are quite difficult, because I go to much into detail rigth away. Basic means basic, I am trying to get used to it :)
First I tried to just pik up some objects of m desk:

Basic Shapes:
First attempt

And more details:

Second try

I am not that satisfied at all. I kind of like the Scotch tape.
Then I thought about something, that in my business context will be used a lot: A computer:

Comuter

I like my "enhanced" computer, number 2. But I would like to be able to visualize a computer or other elements in just simple lines. I gues I will just have to pracitce and practice and practice :)
