Stonehenge

The story of Stonehenge is going through a very exciting time during the early part of the 21st century. The ground breaking excavation at Blick Mead, which is giving insights to the Mesolithic usage of the area, and it has already revealed an effect on flint that many even today would magical.

The ongoing research into the results from the what lies beneath project, the increasing realisation that the story tells a much bigger tale, spread over a wider area. The linking and investigation of sites once thought separate, such as Durrington Walls and Marden Henge. Other sites may well become linked from nearby and further afield, they may not. only time and archaeology will tell.

These are indeed exciting times for the prehistorian. The Ness of Brodgar, Must Farm, the source of the bluestones, so many threads in the story. Somewhere within, as a leading character, Stonehenge. long may the story continue.
