Climate change affects the social and environmental determinants of health – clean air, safe drinking water, sufficient food and secure shelter.climate change is expected to cause approximately 250 000 additional deaths per year, from malnutrition, ***malaria***, diarrhea and heat stress. The direct damage costs to health (i.e. excluding costs in health-determining sectors such as agriculture and water and sanitation), is estimated to be between US$ 2-4 billion/year by 2030(W.H.O).

In most parts of Africa where there are weak health infrastructures– mostly due to that they are developing countries – will be the least able to cope without assistance to prepare and respond to these climatic effects.Malaria is one of the major concern in African countries so if there is an outbreak may people may end up loosing lives due to lack of good health infrastructures. With favorable conditions for mosquitoes to thrive created by climatic changes malaria can do a lot of damage on the African population especially in the rural areas. So i think malaria as an health impact on the population should be prioritized on the United Nations agenda and save lives.
