Why Do People Migrate? Part 1: Facts

When (some) people talk about migrants and refugees they straight away think at the economic impact that new arrivals will have on the public finance.
However, most of these people don't know a lot about economy and not even about migration.
I think this article explains well most of the issues that are still discussed in our societies. It shows like the effects of immigration on employment or wages are measly, and that there could be even positive side-effects.
It also illustrates what could be the negative impact of migrants or refugees on the public finance, considering different factors like the age and the access they have to the labour market. If their asylum applications are processed quickly and they find soon jobs, it will be quicker the return of their money to the public funding.
