Want to get an better idea about what goes into the making of a MOOC? The course producers of “Algorithms and Data Structures” (Algorithmen und Datenstrukturen) are hard at work preparing their course for April 2014 and take you behind the scenes. The course is in German but even if you don’t speak the language, it is worth checking out this video they put together. Learn more about the creation of a MOOC and get a sneak peek into some of the visual features that will be in the course:
More about the course
For all you German speakers, Algorithms and Data Structures will teach you how to develop software. Prof. Dr. Oliver Vornberger, Nils Haldenwang and Nicolas Neubauer will show you the algorithms used for searching and sorting according to Java in order to introduce you to necessary data structures. For instance, you will analyse whether a problem can be solved by the use of technology. If it is possible, you will design an algorithm, select the appropriate data structures for developing it within a Java program and use this to solve the problem. You don’t have to be an expert to join the course, but you will be well on your way by the end!
Earn ECTS Credits!
That’s right! If you successfully complete the course, you can take an official exam at Universität Osnabrück and earn 6 ECTS credits. More information will be provided by the course professors. Please note that the exam is subject to a processing fee. If you are a student and want these credits to be counted towards your specific degree, please check in with your program to make sure they will be accepted.
