Architecture MOOC New York Meetup Nov. 16th!

Prof. Dr. Ivan Shumkov of Contemporary Architecture is stepping beyond the MOOC platform and taking the learning community in new directions both on- and offline. This means more interaction with your fellow users and the professor! This is part of what MOOCing is all about: Finding new ways to make online education more accessible and interactive. We have the technology – let’s make the most out of our global network. So what exactly are these Architecture MOOCers up to?

Virtual Classroom

Using Adobe Connect, Prof. Dr. Ivan Shumkov enables students to take part in a virtual classroom. Students join the conversation and dive into course material and topics with each other and the professor with live cameras and discussion. If you are enrolled in the course, you will be informed about the next virtual classroom date by the professor via email.

New York Meetup: Saturday, 16 November 2013!

In New York City this weekend? Taking it a step further, Prof. Dr. Ivan Shumkov is hosting his own meetup and city tour in the Big Apple! Whether you are enrolled in the course or not, you can join the meetup and get to know him and other fellow users face-to-face. Just go to the New York Meetup on iversity Meetup Everywhere and RSVP. You will find all of the details there, so be sure to note the meeting time and place. Take what you’re learning online into the real world, have a nice Saturday afternoon walk through Washington Square, the West Village and Chelsea, and enjoy interacting with fellow MOOCers and an iversity professor in person!

Are you not in New York and wishing there was a Meetup nearby? Worry not, you can use iversity Meetup Everywhere to host your own or find other Meetups. We’re just getting iversity Meetups Everywhere off the ground, so more information and events are coming soon, but feel free to start now!
